Myrtle Ave., Monrovia

This post card photo was taken at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. The building at the right hand side with the signs that say,
"DRUGS/HOTEL" is where the Monrovian Restaurant is today. The card is addressed to Mrs. J. Chandler 173 -33rd Street, Lindhurst, Long Island, New York and is post marked from Monrovia, August 11, 1957. The message written is, "Hi Courtney & Jack. Got myself a job here and the scenery is just like this. Am very glad to be here. Will write soon. Love, Emilie." The card eventually fell into the hands of the dealer I bought it from in Centreville Virginia.
